Quarry Pond 2025

These paintings unfolded as a spontaneous series across one month, October 2025. From a second floor window, the pond nestled within an old quarry took on its seasonal colors; floats of bright green algae, islands of dusky reeds, golden willows and sycamore, and the rosy ascent of poison oak up to the top of the stone amphitheater. Jagged crevasses carve their way through the gold and greenery, and a graceful tree of crimson berries sprouts from the gentle bank of the pond.
